A LAYERING SYSTEM will allow you to remain snug and warm on the coldest Spring days, while also keeping you cool and comfortable in the Summer. They key is to wear multiple layers of clothing; the outer layers provide insulation, while the base layers "wick" away sweat from the skin.
For Summer conditions, wearing a thin "wicking" base layer speeds up the process of transporting sweat away from the skin. This keeps you feeling dry and comfortable, even on long hikes.
For Spring conditions simply add a Fleece layer on top. This creates an insulating layer, keeping you out of contact with frigid water and trapping warm air from body heat.

A GOOD PAIR of Wading Boots is essential to ensuring your comfort and safety on the water each day.
Felt soles provide good grip at a reasonable price.
Simms next generation rubber soles (Aquastealth and Streamdance), represent the future of wading boots. They are lighter and grippier than felt, and elminate the potential for microbes to be transported between rivers. Not to mention SNOW DOESN'T STICK TO THEM. (Felt soles are now banned in New Zealand)
Both are available with additional "high traction" studs.
TOP TIP - The main reason most people get cold feet when wading is that their boots are too tight. They should be loose fitting to allow blood to flow and a couple of pairs of socks.
